A Mic and Dim Lights 20 Year Anniversary on Dublab | Beats of All-Nations Radio
We're celebrating 20 years of A Mic and Dimlights with a throwback takeover by Bess Kepp, the host & JB, the DJ! A Mic & Dimlights is the longest running event in Downtown Pomona celebrating free speech with an open mic every Thursday. JB breaks down twenty years of poetry and Bess Kepp kicks it off with the infamous Dim Lights (outro).
AMDL Alumni Leeclaybang reunites with the fam. Formerly known as Brother Dvooa, the poet-emcee, dancer, now a producer gone dj, yes he's covering all elements. He opens the show with a dj set, the crew talks about memories at Dim Lights, the early days, its many venues and what's to come. Gabe Real, also having worked within the community over the same timespan contributes to the conversation and delivers a closing mix.
A Mic and Dimlights 17 Year Anniversary, Thursday October 5th at The Da Center for the Arts, Pomona Arts Colony, 9pm.
Imani of the Pharcyde | Beats of All-Nations Radio 052
Imani of the beloved Pharcyde legacy joins us to share music from his latest musical incarnation The Phantasmagorical. The first of several installments, Vol.1, was released earlier this summer, co-Produced by Computer Jay, and stamped with Ta’raach’s ‘Loveturl’ seal. We dig deep into The Pharcyde’s history, what it was like working with a lesser known James “J Dilla” Yancey and everything that has led up this current series of solo releases with a very tight production team.
