Marlon Fuentes is the World Music Manager at the Recording Academy (Grammy’s) and shares an arsenal of African and other world sounds breaking ground.
Eric Coleman is a renown director, photographer and DJ, known for his groundbreaking work with B+ at Mochilla, and works that include photography for the Madvillain album cover and some of the last photos of the late J Dilla.
Every year we highlight international sounds at carnaval time which lines up with Dilla’s anniversary and Black history month usually with an event or radio show. Considering Jay Dee was the first to sample Brazilian music in hip hop with Pharcyde’s "Runnin’," it all makes sense.
Mike Styles intros and hosts the show recorded live at dublab.com. Tune in live every 2nd Wednesday from 10pm-Midnight PST.
