This Saturday, for one night only! Re:Fresh x #SELECT at Green Room Pomona for a #Pomona Artwalk Afterparty Megamix!!
PS. We’ll be back at dba256 on 1/23.
Our friend Gingee just dropped her Tambol EP a project that intelligently brings together all the best elements of her many talents. Tambol is the Filipino word for “drum,” this EP fuses traditional live Filipino sounds and instruments like Kulintang (gongs), Tinikling (bamboo clappers) and other percussion instruments added to various styles of global bass in the form of zouk, moombahton, dancehall, and house. Gingee also includes various styles of hip hop with cuts, raps and poetry.

…and what’s a new release without a proper release party? We are super excited about this Saturday as Magic Garage’s Sound Paint returns to the Airliner in Los Angeles. The show is a promising line-up of bands, artists and some of our favorite DJs including Jimbo Jenkins, Yukicito, Mike Styles, and Gingee!

2014 was a big year for the growth of Beats of All-Nations. Though every year we look back and think about what more we could have done, we did attain some personal and organizational goals that we are very proud of in ’14. On Beats of All-Nations Radio Episode 006, we compiled highlights from our podcasts this year, with guests Cell Uno, Bombay, Radius, Sev Seveer, DJ Jimbo Jenkins, Gingee. We also put together clips from our own radio appearances made on Culture Remixed, Soul Circle Radio, Vibes and Stuff featuring Porchlite, El Toro Negro, Gabe Real and Mike Styles with DJ Ethos. In addition we spotlight our first official release by Sev Seveer, Constant Elevation: Odessa Star, traveling through a couple of ‘movements’ from the album while Seveer discusses the project’s meaning with DJ Moppy on Future Music Radio (Q4, Chicago). Collectively we also had a great year hosting and taking part in some great events. We would like to thank everyone who supported on any level. We are looking forward to the year to come and hope to build on this community with more of you along the way!

Maybe you’ve never heard of him, though he has become an important part of the music scene puzzle in Southern California. Born in L.A. and raised east of it, and Jimbo was brought up, like many of us on hip hop music and culture. In college at UC Riverside, Jimbo took involvement with Hip Hop Congress, focused on organizing on campus events. He soon after began djing the house party and nightclub circuit in Riverside. This would eventually lead into his post-grad time focused on throwing parties of his own in Pomona with some close friends, creating a base for DJs he respected in the local community.
Today Jimbo Jenkins continues to create with conceptual mixes, mash-up projects and beats. His Trillest Mixtape Series, is a unique look into hip hop and R&B from the common hits to the equally great gems by slept on artists hailing from east of L.A. The kid continues to raise eyebrows within the industry, even Diplo posted a photo of Jimbo’s Travis Portishead mash-up project on Instagram. There’s also a mixtape collaboration with Pheo (Mad Decent/Vested in Culture). You can catch Jimbo in the mix live on 2nd & 4th Saturdays at his night called SELECT at Green Room at Fox Theater in Pomona with Arti (My Hollow Drum) and a monthly throwback party called Oh Snap! with Arti, Erok (More Fire/Critical Beatdown), Haruto (The Flyball), and Kab (MHD).
“I’ve found myself to have met and worked with many hardworking people on music, parties, and shows between L.A., O.C. and the I.E. and it makes me happy and proud to be from around these parts.”
