UPDATE: The Yum Festival brings gourmet flavor to Ontario!

Ontario- On Sunday March 25, 2012, the Ontario Mills Mall, the largest retail shopping destination in California, will be taken over by more than 40 premier gourmet food trucks from as part of the first YUM! Festival from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Crowd pleasers including nationally recognized, Grilled Cheese Truck, Kogi BBQ, and Grill ‘em All, are just a few of the trucks that will be serving thousands of local foodies unique variations of grub.

“As the area’s leading shopping, dining and entertainment destination, Ontario Mills is the perfect backdrop for the first-ever YUM! Festival,” said Masa Liles, area director of marketing at Ontario Mills. “We are excited to offer visitors a mix of great food truck dining options, and even a chance to enjoy the great shopping Ontario Mills has to offer.”

Where else can you try a sushi burrito, lobster roll, or a chicken and waffle cupcake all on the same day? If you can wrap your head around the possibilities then you are ready to take this massive subculture head on. With a selection of treats that will please any palate, The Yum! Festival will offer food enthusiasts the chance to sample great eats, with food and beverage items ranging from $3 to $15 each.

“We think this will be a great and fun new way to bring good food and great people from the community together for a tasteful experience the whole family can enjoy,” said Joey Moreno, YUM! Festival curator. “We are certain that it will have a positive effect and open the door for more events like this in the Inland Empire.”

In recent years there has been a reemergence of popularity in food trucks, lead by top class chefs and kitchen aficionados, who use creativity to develop daily menus that are original, affordable and delicious. The ZZ Truck, as recently introduced by restaurant giant Sizzler, will certainly turn heads, being one of the first corporate owned trucks, to enter the mostly independent food truck community. Ontario’s award-winning My Delight Cupcakery is one of several dessert trucks that will be on hand.

Event goers will enjoy music by the Re:Fresh Soundsystem, an influential DJ collective from the Inland Empire, focused on music and culture from around the world.

The YUM! Festival will take place on Sunday March 25, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Ontario Mills Mall, 1 Mills Circle #1, Ontario, 91764, one of the Inland Empire’s biggest shopping destinations.
