Pomona- On Saturday February 11, 2012 Re:Fresh hosted their second annual Brazilian Carnaval party in Downtown Pomona as a special contribution to Metro Pomona‘s monthly artwalk. The artwalk after party featured resident DJs: Gabe Real, Mike Styles, JB, Stryke Uno and Subira. In addition Brazilian batucada group, Tempo Bom brought an authentic carnaval feel with a live drum element as they were accompanied by two Samba Queens (LoriAnne e Gisella) as well as Julie Simon‘s Afro Samba dance crew, “TROPICALEIZA.” The group of performers organized a drum rally, known as a “bloco,” a block away and paraded over to Re:Fresh in true carnaval fashion. So much can be said about what a great event this turned out to be, but we would rather share the pictures with you instead. Enjoy!
